2. Break the Stigma
Stigma surrounding mental health often prevents individuals from seeking the help they need And especially helping others. By taking the bold step of speaking about what has happened to relevant people with the understanding that that’s not your self image, Old things are past away and look forward to the higher calling. We can create a more supportive environment especially for other people. Here’s how you can contribute:
- Share Your Experiences: If you're comfortable, especially to those who’ll appreciate your experience; sharing your own mental health journey can help others feel less alone and encourage them to seek help. (Leave a comment to share your experience)
- Listen and Validate: When you find out the struggles of others or someone shares their struggles with you, listen without judgment and validate their feelings. Sometimes, just knowing that someone cares can make a big difference. With the understanding that we’re not the judge and whatever we judge others for will come back to test us also to validate us. Yes it’s a law.
- Educate Others: Gently correct misconceptions and provide factual information when you hear stigmatizing comments. Education is a powerful tool for change.
By helping others you gain the strength never to be bothered by yours.
